Blu Wave SUP Warranty and Return Policy
Blu Wave provides a manufacturer’s warranty for manufacturing defects on all new boards for one (1) year from date of purchase. This warranty covers only Blu Wave boards that are purchased from an authorized Blu Wave Dealer or on the Blu Wave webstore. Warranty coverage is not transferable and as such will only apply to the original purchaser. Proof of purchase must be presented at the time of the warranty claim to your Blu Wave dealer. This warranty does not cover any damage that may be a result of misuse of the product, unauthorized modification or repairs, impact accidents, heat exposure/excessive exposure to sunlight, improper handling, storage, abuse, maintenance or care or incorrect set-up, or use in rental operations. Cosmetic flaws do not affect the functionality and performance of the board and are not applicable. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to inspect the board at the point of sale and satisfy themselves with the condition of the product.
This limited guarantee does not apply to:
- Normal wear and tear and aging of product including sun-fading
- SUPs damaged by extreme weather or environmental conditions
- SUPs damaged whilst in possession of a freight carrier or a dealer
- SUPs damaged by accident, neglect, improper use or handling or storage
- SUPs that have been towed by power or sail boats
- SUPs designated as Prototypes
- SUPs sold as “demos”, “seconds”,”rentals” or in “as is” condition.
- SUPs determined to have been used for any activity other than an activity that is customary for the product.
- SUPs that have been structurally or dimensionally altered or modified except where a Bluwave accessory has been installed in accordance with the advice given by the Company
- SUPs used for commercial or rental purposes.
This limited warranty excludes any incidental or consequential damages or expenses resulting from any defects. Bluwave SUPs is not liable for any injury sustained in the use of its SUPs, nor for damages claimed by a Third Party. Bluwave SUPs’ aggregate liability shall be limited to an amount equal to the Consumer’s original purchase price paid for the defective product.
Caring for your Blu Wave SUP
Do not store your boards in direct sunlight. Keep in shaded areas, carports, or garages when not in use. Extreme heat is damaging to boards and is not covered under warranty. Rinse boards off after use, especially when used in salt water. Do not transport or store boards in bubble wrap, as the bubble wrap has a greenhouse effect when exposed to direct sunlight, and will intensify the rays of sunlight. Reflective bags are recommended for travel, but should not be used as storage in extreme heat for extended periods. Your board bag is a valuable protection tool if spending the day at the beach with your board. When not in the water, drape your board bag over your board to avoid exposure to direct rays of sunlight.
Take care to avoid any impact of your board with any object or surface. Fibreglass is prone to puncture or cracking in impact situations.
Make sure your vent plug is tightened before use. The vent on your Blu Wave board is a one way vent which allows air to escape from your board, but does not let water enter (and waterlog your board). The inner core of your board is EPS Foam, and contains air pockets. When exposed to heat, these pockets can expand and at extreme temperatures, de-gas. The vent plug’s function is to provide a way for this air to escape, rather than exerting pressure on the fibreglass and in
some cases de-lamination of the fibreglass from the foam core.
